Kefir is a beverage fermented from milk or fruit juice fruit sweet based on "grain kephir". It is a compound of sourdough lactic acid bacteria and yeasts. Kefir is a lightly carbonated beverage containing probiotics (living food) that help transit and digestion. It strengthens the immune system. It also improves lactose tolerance. Pasteurized kefir can be consumed by pregnant women throughout their pregnancy. Know before you eat or drink anything containing kefir. Effervescent Kefir is not recommended during pregnancy to avoid any risk of listeriosis.
