lumpfish eggs, or lump, are eggs edible fish, usually served as an appetizer on toast. They are gray and colored red or black after adding the brine. The lumpfish is fished only for eggs, flesh with no commercial value. It lives in the Baltic Sea, the North Atlantic and North Sea. Lumpfish eggs are rich in Omega 3, however it is not advisable to eat during pregnancy to avoid any risk of listeriosis. Pregnant women should focus on fish or shellfish cooked.
